AITRIOS addresses warehouse challenges with MOVO Berth and MITSUI-SOKO
The logistics industry faces a growing challenge where the number of inbound and outbound shipments directly affect the efficiencies within the warehouse. Stakeholders and warehouse owners are met with the expectation to improve labor management and optimize operational efficiency.
In Japan, this challenge is only heightened as new labor laws regulate the number of working hours for truck drivers, to maintain their safety on the roadway. Logistics professionals are met with urgency to optimize in support of these labor laws before they go into effect.
In response, Sony Semiconductor Solutions (AITRIOS™), MOVO Berth, and Restar Electronics Corporation collaborated to support the industry during this pivotal moment.
The ‘AITRIOS | Packaged Solution for Automated Berth Reception Data Record with MOVO Berth’ was established to reduce the time for cargo loading and unloading, while maintaining, and even improving, warehouse productivity.
With this joint solution, not only are human errors reduced, but performance data is captured, helping warehouses understand where and how to increase operational efficiency, reducing idle time for drivers during loading/unloading and returning time for them to finish routes, meeting regulations. MITSUI-SOKO, one of the first adopters of this solution, expects to see an annual benefit of ~3 million yen across its eight berth locations.
