ATSUGI, JAPAN — June 9, 2025 — Sony Semiconductor Solutions Corporation (Sony) today announced the launch of "Studio," an AI model optimization service offered through its edge AI sensing platform "AITRIOS™." The service streamlines the development and deployment of sensing solutions. The service is now available in the U.S. via Sony’s AITRIOS Marketplace.

"Studio" offers development templates tailored to specific use cases and tasks, enabling a one-stop solution for AI model retraining. By simplifying the development of high-precision edge AI through "Studio," Sony aims to accelerate the broader implementation of sensing solutions.

Edge AI Development Faces Hurdles in Model Optimization

Edge AI devices like cameras have limited processing power and memory, requiring compact and highly customized AI models. Optimizing these models typically involves manually labeling images, adjusting settings, and testing performance — a time-consuming process that requires expert AI skills and can slow down development.

"Studio" addresses these challenges by making edge AI development faster and easier with two major new features: AI Templates and Automated Workflows.

AI Templates are pre-trained models tailored to specific use cases and business needs, helping users get started quickly without deep AI expertise. Meanwhile, the Automated Workflow feature enables a complete, end-to-end AI development process — from model creation to deployment — within the AITRIOS platform. Users can automatically retrain models for their target applications with just two simple steps, creating a use case and uploading a dataset to significantly reduce development time and complexity.
